What are your hot tub bases suitable for?
Our plastic hot tub bases are incredibly effective and versatile. They are a suitable foundation for almost all hot tubs and swim spas. Please contact us if you are unsure of compatibility.
Can I use the plastic hot tub base panels under an inflatable hot tub.
We do not recommend this, as the plastic tub base panels can sometimes have sharp edges which may catch on the soft material and potentially damage the inflatable hot tub. We do have inflatable hot tub bases, which are perfect for supporting your blow up hot tub.
What sub-base do I need under my hot tub base?
We recommend you prepare the ground below your base with approximately 100mm of a compact hard base (type 1 or type 3), a weed-suppressing membrane and sand to level.
What is the difference between compact hard base type 1 or type 3?
Compact hard base, type 1 is much finer and can occasionally dust while the compact hard base, type 3 is larger and more permeable.
Can I put the base straight onto grass or soil?
We recommend not installing directly onto grass or soil but instead, install onto a compact hard base as it creates a sturdy, even base. Soil or grass can and will most likely will absorb water leading to sinking and creating an uneven sub-base for your spa base.
Can your plastic bases be installed on to concrete slabs/pads?
Yes, they can be installed onto concrete slabs or pads as long as the existing ground is strong and level. The base will allow airflow under your spa and elevate it away from any potential surface water.
How much gravel or aggregate should I use to fill my base?
Approximately 8kg of gravel or aggregate is required to fill each panel, or 72kg per m².
What size gravel should I use?
We recommend using anything up to 20mm in size.
Does the base need to be filled with gravel?
Our bases are more than strong enough without a gravel fill, able to withstand up to 420 tonnes per sqm. The gravel can be used to compact and enforce even more whilst also being a decorative finish.
Does this product come with pins or membrane?
No, this particular product does not include pins and a sheet of membrane.
Can the plastic base panels be cut to size?
Yes they can be cut and we recommend doing so with a fine tooth saw.
Do I need pegs or anchors to secure my base?
Pegs and anchors to secure you base are only necessary when installing on areas which have a gradient over 12%.
How do I know which side of the panel to put down?
The bottom of the base has ‘X-Grid’ written on it, indicating the face you put on the ground.
Can the base panels be stacked on top of each other?
No, they are not designed to be stacked.

Can I create a grass base with the use of your hot tub base?
Yes, grass can grow in the panels cells when correctly filled with soil and seed.
Do your plastic hot tub bases have a warranty?
Yes, our bases have a 10 year manufacturer warranty.
Can I be guaranteed the same colour all throughout my product?
Our products are new generation, manufactured entirely from post-consumer recycled plastic; this means you may occasionally find very slightly different shades of colour.
How much is delivery?

What Is A Plastic Hot Tub Base?
Our individual 330mm x 330mm recycled plastic, interlocking hot tub base panels can be used to create a full foundation or used as an add on to an existing plastic hot tub base to create a base of any size or shape. You may also want a non-slip pathway around your hot tub which you can create with the use of our non-slip rubber tiles that simply slot into our plastic base panels.
What Are The Benefits Of Using A Hot Tub Base?
Manufactured in the UK from 100% recycled polyolefin our plastic bases have been engineered as a lightweight, durable and weatherproof hot tub base system. Environmentally the plastic hot tub base is the best, made in the UK from 100% recycled plastics it is kinder to the environment than other imported competitors and compared to concrete options.
Each panel weighs in at just 0.57kgs each, and just because it is light does not mean it is weak. The round cell design without any straight lines means that it is one of the strongest plastic base panels on the market. Tested unfilled to 420 tonnes load-bearing capacity per square metre, the hot tub base panel is able to support all types and sizes of hot tubs and swim spas. Our bases are actually very easy to install thanks to the specially designed slot and peg system which is paired with its lightweight yet strong frame.
The weather can play a large part in the life of a hot tub base so you shouldn’t have to worry about your base not lasting as long as your hot tub. That is why all of our hot tub bases are resistant to erosion, UV stabilised, able to withstand temperatures in excess of 50 degree C (far hotter than the UK summer) and are fully permeable, meaning any rain or spilled water can drain naturally away from your hot tub reducing the amount of stagnant surface water that could damage your spa.
