The Project
This case study starts with Peter who has recently purchased himself an Intex Inflatable Hot Tub & Wooden Gazebo. He was looking for a suitable foundation to support his 10ft x 10ft wooden gazebo and inflatable spa for years to come.
After researching to find the best solution to his base problem, he found our website and started reading up on the fantastic benefits our fully recycled base could offer his garden building. Peter was won over by the huge list of pros and ordered himself a 10ft x 10ft Plastic Shed Base, Shed Base Membrane and Shed Base Membrane Staples the same day.
The Work
Peter received his order 3 working days later in an easy to manage package which he could store until the day of installation. The area was already marked out with the old concrete border from the previous building installed there.
Peter ensured the ground was solid and level so the plastic panels have a good sub-base. Once this had been done, Peter began laying the Shed Base Membrane and securing it into the ground using the membrane staples to ensure there was no movement when stepped on or if the wind blew before the base was installed.
Next, Peter began installing the base. Laying 4 panels at once, he started in one corner and laid each section one at a time and simply connected each touching piece together using the specially designed slot and peg system. Peter told us how easy this was to do. With the base secured he began filling the entire area with decorative gravel (the colour was chosen to compliment the shade of wood used for the gazebo), around 8kg of gravel is needed to fill each panel.
Finally, with the entire area filled, Peter could now install his 10ft x 10ft Wooden Gazebo and his Intex Inflatable Hot Tub!
Conclusion
Peter was and still is incredibly happy with his new Inflatable Hot Tub, Wooden Gazebo and our plastic base. We think it looks great and are sure his neighbours will soon be following in his footsteps!
A huge thank you to Peter for the information and photos he sent in to enable us to create this case study. Should you have photos or information on your installation to share with us or have any questions regarding our products then please do contact us.
