Whether you are laying a playhouse base, shed base or even a log cabin base, one of the most important parts of the project is the preparation work. Ground preparation is vital when it comes to creating an effective base. This can be done through levelling existing ground or even digging away at soil to create a flat ‘hole for the base to sit in. In this case study, our customer knew the importance of ground preparation. Read on to see what work she completed before installing her base.

The Project
This case study comes from Louise who was searching the internet for a suitable foundation for her children’s new playhouse. After looking at other base options Louise found our website and began to browse our range of bases, she told us how our product really stood out compared to other alternatives due to its superior quality and great price. Louise went on to order a 6ft x 6ft Plastic Playhouse Base and Shed Base Membrane the same day she found our site. The base and membrane arrived the next day in easy to manage boxes.
Louise told us; “When looking for products suitable for the base of our children’s new playhouse your product stood out. Compared to competitors, the price offered a product of superior quality and the free delivery was a bonus. The order arrived quicker than we expected.”
The Work
Louise began her work by levelling the existing ground where the playhouse and base would soon be stood. She needed a flat and compact area on which to stand the base. Once levelled she unravelled the membrane sheet and secured this into the ground using Shed Base Membrane Staples. This is done to ensure there was movement should the wind blow or if stepped on before the base was installed on top.
Next for Louise was to install our fully recycled plastic base. She started in one corner and placed each panel one at a time simply attaching them together as she went along using the specially designed slot and peg system. Louise told us how easy our base was to assemble and install. From here she began to build the playhouse, the process you can follow through the images in the blog. We’re sure you’ll agree her playhouse looks fantastic!
Conclusion
Louise was and still is incredibly pleased with her Playhouse Base. Not only do her children have a fantastic space in the garden to play but it is on a strong base that will help prolong its life.
