About Our Grass Reinforcement Mesh – TurfMesh 1800
TurfMesh 1800 is a fantastic non-slip grass reinforcement mesh which is ideal for use on grassed areas that are regularly used by almost any vehicle including HGVS and emergency vehicles or by pedestrians. Our grass reinforcement meshes can be used in a multitude of ways to protect the root of the grass below whilst holding the weight of a vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Made from a high density polyethylene, each TurfMesh roll is chemical, rot and UV resistant, strong, durable, long lasting and easy to install. With an estimated lifespan of between 10 and 20 years if installed correctly and used as suggested (vehicle weight and frequency of use) you can have a grass reinforcement solution for a long time to come. Installed using either heavy duty u-pins or anti-pull anchor pegs at 1 metre intervals you can have your mesh laid and in use in next to no time thanks to its easy installation process.
What Can TurfMesh Be Used For?
Our versatile reinforcement mesh can be used for a multitude of applications and withstand the weight of vehicles. Whilst being strong, easy to install and flexible, its highly unobtrusive design means that once installed and the grass below has grown through, the mesh itself will be barely noticeable and your grassed area will begin looking more and more natural as the days pass. You can still mow, weed and feed your turf as normal and the TurfMesh will not be affected. Below are just a few examples of how our TurfMesh has been commonly used and continues to be used:
Grass Driveways
One of the more popular uses for our range of reinforcement meshes, you can transform a small grass patch in front or at the side of your home into a strong and durable grass parking space that without mesh would most likely become a churned up, muddy and grass free mess. Simple to install, just unroll the mesh, trim if needed and pin in place until you have covered the correct area. As soon as it has been pinned down you can begin using it. The mesh provides you with a strong, permeable, non-slip, chemical and weather resistant grass parking space at your home which if installed and used correctly could even outlive your car!
Grass Car Parks
Similar to the grass driveways but of course on a much larger scale. Used at commercial properties or sports clubs and grounds where there is currently a grass patch either being damaged by cars or left unused. The grass protection mesh can be easily rolled out and pinned in place on almost any grassed area and begin being parked on. The mesh provides you with a strong, permeable, durable and non-slip surface that will support the weight of vehicles for years to come if installed correctly. You can also create parking spaces using the delineators that fit perfectly into our turfmesh anchor pegs so you can create a set number of spaces as well as road markings on the mesh.
Grass Access Routes
Used at events, festivals, campsites that are mainly covered in grass. Our reinforcement mesh is a vital product used mainly for emergency services access who need a reliable route in, through and out of the area without the risk of getting stuck in mud. As TurfMesh is a strong, durable and non-slip product it can provide a suitable route, path or road for emergency services and other vehicles to use safely and confidently. If installed temporarily at events that move around the country or change location every year, the TurfMesh can be unpinned and relocated to create access routes and roads at the new location.
Equestrian or Other Livestock Areas
Our reinforcement mesh is a popular choice with horse and other livestock owners due to a number of reasons. TurfMesh protects the root of the grass and the ground below from direct contact and weight from animals which could potentially lead to dead grass and muddy patches. Its strong and non-slip qualities provide a sturdy surface under you or your animals feet which comes in handy around gateways, feeding rings and so much more especially in the wetter and colder months of the year when slipping could be a real risk. As the grass is able to grow naturally through the gaps in the mesh your animals (if they eat it) still have access to fresh grass to eat between feeds.
Paths & Walkways
TurfMesh has become a popular grass path and walkway product. Used on grassed areas that experience pedestrian traffic which could damage the turf and ground below leading to muddy areas that can take months to recover. Once installed, our grass reinforcement mesh protects the root of the grass and the ground below from becoming a quagmire and supports the pedestrians using the path. This type of path is seen more and more at golf courses as they look for solutions to allow their courses to be used all year round without the risk of damage to their turf.
